TESTIMONIALS

Great weekend, great house, great views!

I organised a hen weekend and we stayed in Collanmore Lodge, Ciaran was more than accommodating, what with my calls every day up until we got there when anyone would have lost their patience!! The house was amazing! Tracy was more than helpful organising the times of the boats and even changing the time on the day! We also did the high ropes and archery tag which I would highly recommend! It came recommended by a friend and I will definitely be recommending it to anyone planning a hen weekend going forward!

Kayaking Craic

Huge thanks to Ciaran & Dara for bringing part our hen party group out Kayaking to Collanmore Island. We were very well taken care of and had lots of fun out in the open water.. Fantastic views of Croagh Patrick & the bay. I would highly recommend these guys to add a bit of adventure to your trip, Extremely professional & friendly.

We hope to visit again, thanks again, Karen K & hen group 29.07.17.

A Happy New Year

Had an outstanding New Years weekend away. Plenty of space for everyone to live and a great sized kitchen to cook in. The weather didn't allow us to explore the great outdoors but we were perfectly happy inside, spent quite a bit of time in the snug! Ciaran was great, very accommodating, and the house itself and location are very picturesque.
We disembarked the ferry into 2017 on a high and plan to return for a BBQ and water sports over the summer. Overall great experience highly recommended.

Amazing Hen weekend at Collanmore Lodge

Just back from my sister's hen weekend at the lodge and I could not recommend it more highly as a destination for hens/stags or any other group trip! The real selling point of the whole package is the lodge itself and the fact that it's on its own private island. There was such a sense of excitement as we gathered on Rosmoney Pier on the Friday evening (note: you need to all arrive together for one crossing). Joe, the boat driver was so lovely and the trip takes less than 5 minutes.

Everyone was bowled over by the lodge itself- there's a huge open kitchen/living room with high ceilings and fantastic views of Clew Bay. We brought along our dinner to reheat and the kitchen had all the facilities you'd expect. This kind of trip does need a lot of prep though as you need to bring ALL your food and Alcohol etc for the full weekend. There are 4 rooms and although the beds are mostly double bunk beds they were surprisingly comfortable.

The hot tub was a huge plus and we were lucky it had just been fixed the weekend before. It's a perfect place to chill out and there's also a sauna with it so we spent plenty of time there with a few beers!

Our original plan was to go into dinner in Westport at 6 pm on Saturday but the forecast was terrible and the crossing unsafe in darkness, so Ciaran, who runs Adventure Islands, advised we eat early and come back for 7 pm. Tbh, this turned out to be a much better plan as we much preferred hanging out and drinking in the living room and the bar of the lodge (the small bar is so cute - like having your own local pub at home! But again, you need to bring all your own booze). This definitely also made the weekend cheaper for us and I'd certainly plan it that way if I were to go back again.

We booked in for watersports on the Saturday morning. I was disappointed to have missed out on the inflatable rig (it looks like great craic from the video), due to the bad weather forecast, but we still had a lovely time kayaking in the bay and the weather behaved itself at least for the morning.

The feedback from all the hens was all really positive and everyone loved the intimate, relaxed setting. Ciaran and Tracy were very helpful throughout and Ciaran (poor thing!) was on call to us all weekend if there were any issues (which was very much appreciated, stressful as it can be when organising these things!)

If you're thinking of booking, I'd advise doing so well in advance as it seems to book out very fast (we did it 7 months beforehand) but honestly, I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Best weekend ever!

Just back from my hen party at the lodge and I could not recommend it enough! This is absolutely perfect for group trips but I'm also thinking about returning with my young family next summer as its perfect for this also! Ciaran was great and couldn't have been more helpful, we particularly enjoyed the boat ride, jacuzzi and sauna! Even though we travelled in October and it was that bit colder this did not dampen out weekend, I'm the first to get married out of my group of friends and I know that all the girls are looking to return there for their hens already! Can't wait to return next year and I'll definitely spread the word that this is the best destinations for a hen or stag in Ireland! Thanks to everyone there you are doing an amazing job!

No Words

I can't put into words how much we enjoyed this hen weekend. Ciaran and Tracey were so helpful and accommodating we couldn't ask for more. The service was just brilliant. The lodge was clean, cosy and very spacious considering there was a gang of girls staying. We ordered the food online before we got there and it was in the lodge waiting for us! How good is that? Everyone enjoyed the water activities, kayaking, paddle boarding and the water park was best fun ever! We never laughed as much :) and getting into the hot tub and a sauna after all the activities was just heaven. Good weather helped a lot I guess, it's just such a beautiful place with no one around to give out we were too loud! Thanks again to adventure islands for all the transfers in and out of the island, you made it so easy for us. I would definitely recommend Collanmore island lodge to anyone for a party or a family get together.

Looking forward to organising my sisters 30th birthday party in it, it'll be fun!
Thanks again guys, you're the best!

If Carlsberg did hen weekends...

We celebrated our friends hen weekend in Collanmore Lodge the first weekend of July and what a weekend it was! As one of the bridesmaids I was tasked with organising the weekend and Ciaran and Tracey were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The lodge itself is fantastic - who doesn't love a giant hot tub?! Everything was amazing from the water activities down to the tasty dinner on Saturday night, we had the best weekend we could have hoped for and the hen was overwhelmed with it all. Would highly recommend to anyone organising a hen or stag or even a big group of friends going! Amazing place!

Hidden gem!!

I stayed at the private island lodge last weekend with some friends and family, I would absolutely recommend the place above any other throughout our 2 week trip to Ireland. We had a blast. The lodge is modern, has comfy beds, hot tub, fireplace, mini-pub, and offers unmatchable views of the famous Croagh Patrick and a group of islands in Clew Bay (all rich with history). Ciaran was fantastic - accommodating, in a friendly way and funny, definitely adding to the trip. While in the area we went kayaking around the bay, visited the Westport House, went snorkelling in clew bay (amazing), biked the Greenway to Achill Island, went zip-lining, practised archery and went to some fantastic pubs in town with spectacular traditional live music. Westport has my heart and I can't wait to go back and stay at the lodge again!

Kayaking from Collamore island

Had such a fantastic day yesterday kayaking in the sun from Collanmore island lodge. Thanks to Ciaran for such a chilled out trip around the islands. Couldn't recommend it enough for families or a group of friends! We'll definitely be making a return visit very soon! No greater place to be than Westport in the summer!

Brilliant for a weekend away!

I booked the lodge on Collanmore Island for a hen party of 15 and the whole experience was fantastic. Ciaran was lovely to work with, and always efficient in responding and helping us with whatever he could.

The lodge itself is a beautiful big house and the fact that there was nothing else around it on the island added to it. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked making cooking for the group very manageable.

We opted for the kayaking activity and it was great fun for all, hot chocolate being served to us half-way through, a nice touch.

All in all, the weekend went by seamlessly and everyone at the hen had a fantastic time! I highly recommend it as something different to do for a hen party or group of friends organising a weekend away!

Thanks to all at Collanmore Island Lodge B&B.
